Nuclear radiologists in training take a look behind the scenes

Recently, a group of nuclear radiologists in training completed the course “Radiation Protection for Nuclear Radiologists.” As part of this course, they visited our facility. During the tour, the participants were given a unique insight into the production process of radioactive tracers. Among other things, they visited our bunker with a cyclotron, where the radioactive materials are produced. Afterwards, they viewed the GMP labs to see how the radioactive substances are processed into finished products for use in nuclear medicine.

For the participants, the visit was a valuable addition to the knowledge they gained during the course. Seeing the technical installations, safety measures, and the various steps in the production process helps to better understand the theoretical background and place it in the proper context.

We believe it is important to encourage knowledge sharing and collaboration within healthcare. Therefore, we regularly welcome students, researchers, and healthcare professionals who want to learn more about the world behind nuclear medicine. It is wonderful to bring theory and practice together in this way and to be able to give participants a behind-the-scenes look at a process that ultimately contributes to better diagnostics and patient care.
